I'd love to hear from someone who works with servers what's the best way to get some real world experience. Is it school (which would imply taking classes in the evening and spending lotsa money)? A low-ball job (workin' my way up)? It seems like all the jobs I find that could get me experience are looking for someone who can work w/ servers in their sleep. So, that's the catch-22 for me.
I've been doing desktop support for ages and would really like to move into working on servers. I've done very secondary work using Users and Groups in AD, but nothing I can really write home about.
I would REALLY appreciate any feedback here!!
TIA
